I’ve mostly been painting buildings and walls of late. Believe me, this is a totally different ball game from tanks and little men. Harvey’s guide has helped and so has this useful thread on painting churches on the Battlefront forum.
I’ve base-painted, shaded and highlighted the stonework pretty much in accordance witht the advice given in the link above. For the slate roof, I followed Harvey’s advice of VMC German Grey drybrushed with successively lighter coats mixed with white. Roof tiles are Revell’s Aqua Colour Reddish Brown (37):

I bent the wall so the roof would fit. As BigLee anticipated, the wall bowed abit, but I’m happier with this than a big gap between it and the roof. It’s not that noticeable from a distance:

Will post again, when the thing is finished. I’ve got to do the doors, windows and the louvers in the belfrey.
Oh no the shame, you’ve nearly done a whole church and I just bought more stuff for the mountain…
Heh…that’s not all. I’ve also done 2 buildings and alot of walls. Feel.
Your.
Shame.
Did I mention the ebay auctions I’m bidding on?
No you didn’t, more models or buildings?
Little men! Don’t tell the wife.
You did a good job fixing that up.
Ive just got the church from Totalbattle miniatures. I’ll be following your paint scheme I think
Thanks Scott, send us some photies of the TotalBattle church and let us know how you get on.
I’ve got a load of eastern front terrain from the same Guy and it’s all rather good so far, I’ll be looking at “Harveys guide” for my Normandy buildings from that French guy when they arrive next month.
Send us some photos of the Eastern Front buildings Gonzo, I’d be interested to see what they look like in the flesh. Personally, I’m looking forward to Battlefront’s Eastern Front Church. That’s what’s missing from our Russian table.
