Common sense rules again?

And relax: Battlefront Official Events Update.

People power or damage limitation?  However you interpret it, positive reinforcement and the status quo seem back in fashion.

Trouble is, like curry, some stains just never wash out however hard you try…

  1. We’ve had our own discussion on this in our group. I believe battlefront should make people use their models at tournaments. I was all for the 100%

Its their game, and buying their models supports the scuptors and writers to ensure that Battlefront stays in business.

    • I don’t entirely disagree with you Kage. As you say, He who pays the piper calls the tune. No one is compelled to play in official tournaments and if you like the kudos (and any special objective marker you might get for participating :) ) then it’s not unreasonable for you to play by house rules.

I guess any misgivings I’ve got about this issue reside in the reported tone and intention towards the wider hobby and other manufacturers in general. Unhelpful remarks, however unintended, make for poor public relations – a lesson BF has sought to rapidly put right.

Other than that, if you’re not a tournament player, isn’t it all abit of a storm in a dice-pot?

      • Thats not strictly true the army lists are a key part of the game for a majority of players. I was busy collecting a 6th AARR army before the list dissappeared, one of the choices being brit paras these are not made by bf so is that why the list went? Similarly finns have a ju88 option in grey wolf not made by bf how long will this option last? In festung europa there were a number of air support options available but now all gone.
Imho if bf want to remain credible as historically accurate the lists should have all accurate options even if bf dont make them. And these “not made by bf” options should be available to all players including tournament players …

        • That’s fair Mark, I hadn’t considered that possibility. I prefer games with broadly historical OOBs, it would be a bit rum if BF were manipulating the lists to sell approved models. I don’t think it’s as bad as all that at present but, as I inferred, if last week’s wobble was indicative of a wider seas change I for one would be dissapointed.
