I’ll be 40 on Tuesday. Look what an embargo on figures brings, Terra Firma Studios 15mm bocage sections:
Really good looking terrain pieces – are the trees permanently attached or do they ship/store seperately?
They’re integral, but I reckon you could pull them out if you really wanted to. They are really nice pieces. The hedges aren’t bad either!
Time to buy a few bases of panzerschrecks and paint some more HMGs me thinks 🙂
Another great review. I like the look of these bocage terrain pieces – I think they are the best looking pre-built bocage I have seen. However, I don’t think I could justify the cost as you’d need a lot of these to fill out a 4×4 bocage table.
Justin – any chance you coule set all of your boacge up on a table with some minis please, as I think it’d look great.
No problem, but it will have to be next weekend as it’s Mother’s Day today and the wrath of God would descend upon me if I had the audacity to start setting up my 6 x 4 table in the lounge! I’ve about enough bocage for a 2 x 2 area intersected by quarters. I also received about a 3 feet of regular hedges. I’m hoping these and some of LOIC’s stone walls will give us enough for Normandy.
hmmm all Justin’s comments have disappeared from this section, is it:
a) Chris’s revenge for Justin not letting Chris place all the aircraft on the table?
b) a cunning plan so that Justin has plausible deniability of being on t’internet on mother’s day?
c) The Webblogtweetbook page is overloaded from all the good stuf frammed into it?
Thanks for spotting that Harvey
It seems these Wordpress Blog ‘plugins’ are a law unto themselves – one tries to improve something, (enhance the blog) and it breaks something else. Sorted now.
Cheers again 🙂
Nice review and a nice looking product. Thats not a bad price for ‘made to order’ terrain but it would probably still cost a fortune to kit out a full sized table? I wanted some some Bocage for my table but was put off by the cost. In the end I made my own – about 2.4 m or 94 inches – for about £22. But even that’s not enough and I will need to make at least as much again for a decent amount on the table.
Thanks Lee. I read your piece and found it really useful. I considered making my own until the wife looked at me and rolled her eyes. I have a track record for taking ages to make stuff. She thought it might be better to step in and just buy some. But you’re right. It was expensive.
I’ve got enough for a 2′ x ‘2 area intersected into quaters along with about a furthe 3’ of hedges (these are cheaper). I’ll post some photos in the gallery this weekend so folk can see how it looks.
My wife rolls her eyes a lot too. Usually when I get Static grass halfway across the living room.
Is there any chance someone from Model Dads could get in touch with me as I also produce Bocage, Mine fields and Barbed wire entanglements and I was wondering if i could send some into you to review?
Hi Aaron, Model Dads are always keen to receive products for review. I’ve sent you an email regarding our address.
Superb blog you have here but I was wondering if you
knew of any forums that cover the same topics discussed here?
I’d really like to be a part of community where I can get
feed-back from other experienced people that share the same interest.
If you have any suggestions, please let me know.
TMP? Just google it and you’ll find a world of discontent! 🙂
Or the Battlefront Forum? on the Flames of war website?
Looks amazing, but can’t find them to buy anywhere? Any links you can direct me to?
Thanks in advance
Sorry, no. The gent that made this stuff packed up show about 3 years ago I’m afraid.
